Oldest North American Petroglyphs found on Paiute Indian Tribal Land

To summarize, these petroglyphs found in northern Nevada were discovered near Pyramid Lake, on Paiute tribal land, and are similar to ancient petroglyphs found at a lake in Oregon. These petroglyphs, they're estimating could be somewhere in the neighborhood of 14,800 years old but could be as young as 10,500 years old. Normally, these sorts of drawings consist of 'hunting scenes' but these depict more abstract designs of geometry and lines.

Furthermore, those researching the petroglyphs have offered up an explanation of them representing symbols for clouds, lightning and even the Milky Way.

Researchers have suggested the etchings represent various meteorological symbols, such as clouds and lightning, perhaps the Milky Way.
